Conformity

Do we conform just for social acceptance?
Just so that we belong and fit in?

Blindly follow what we know to be wrong and yet proclaim otherwise, only because we choose not to be perceived as outcasts?
Give up the prerogative to be individualistic?
Mob mentality or plain idiocy?

No. I simply refuse to be one and the same.
I am my own person and I will in every way exercise that right.
So there.
Shoot me cos' I'm different.
And because I dare to be.

I dont blame you for not following the norms. I myself feel that it is ridiculous how you cant do some things that you want to just because 'people will talk'. its insane how people are very quick to judge and all. And I believe you should always follow what you want to do, I know I will not give two farks about what people say. Stay that way, you will be a happier person. No ones going to be shooting you my dear. I see you have too many fans to support you =)

i'm such an idiotic non-conformist. So much so people think i do things just to spite society. But in actual fact the choices i make are the choices that i believe in. What you said is so true. About how it takes lotsa courage to stand out. I've made plenty of decisions that have landed me the honour of becoming the topic of discussion. not that i care. plus it's always interesting how those that talk bout u actually know everything that's happening in your life sparing you the need to provide detail. they also know if u like ur eggs scrambled, poached or sunny side up. i find it very much entertaining.

your die-hard fan who's yes, not in singapore, and also not a guy

kav: hello! thanks for dropping by. true. funny how people mind what others say or do more than invest that thought in their own lives. and why do you reckon i have fans? and too many? haha. i really am very low profile you know and i happen to want to stay that way :)

raj: i don't even have to take a decision to have others talk about me. haha. but then again, that's their assumptions and that too, all in the past. we live by our rules right? so to hell with the naysayers. it's too energy consuming having to fuel their fire with our rebuttals and justifications of what we deem right. it's amazing though, the stories they come up with. rumour mills the lot of them.
you're a lady? so how come all evidence points to you being otherwise. you've got me confused, dude, dudette or whatever.
at least now can i have some insight into who you really are? a blog address perhaps. i would love to read you regardless of your sexual orientation. haha.

i didn't point u anywhere! i fancy ladies and raj is part of my legal name :) i go by it with many people. but i do understand where you're coming from. i don't know if i'm a lady though. more of a slob. hehe

this isn't an attempt to step back, but i don't have a blog.nothing on a public domain besides 2 profiles. so if there's any other way i could tell you something about who or what i was, fire away.

kumaresan: yes i most certainly am. :) you're not slut so stop calling yourself that mister! and to what do i owe the honour of this visit? can you parcel me some of that chicken curry you cooked and could you throw in one hot surfer dude from down under as well? can't wait for dec and your return. we've much to do. and i miss you truckloads.

raj: well you could clue me in on quite a few things! for a start where on earth are you? how old are you truthfully? and what do you do? i can't believe you don't have a blog really. you could change the world with that brain of yours. haha.

i'm 22, 85 born. in sydney, australia. but my gf's in sg. so mentally i switch between 2 worlds. i'm studying to become a vet.

for now, there's no plans to become the president of the US of A. well that's a definite way to execute a change in the world right? It would be very interesting though. a brown candidate. i'm sure i'd get votes by the MILLIONS from tech savvy NRIs!

senthil: stop with the third person thing already! sadly i didn't even try it out. roarrr.

'nise: hello you! actually its still just you raj and a couple of friends. still very low profile and not intending to go any other way. :)

raj: finally i've dished some dirt! ooohhh...you're in aussie. i love and i can't wait to get there. but i'm bound for perth though. so are you the active one or is your gf? pardon me i can be quite liberal and very blunt as a result of.

Baby, you know your blog is fabulous (much like you) when visitors (like me) check your comments before reading the post itself.

Ha.

On another note, I am enjoying the exchange. And you know me, I'm a fan, whatever you do, whether your blogging or chiiling with me any place.

And btw, raj, your writing is like a blog itself. (but within another blog?...)

smashing. can I marry you raj?

and kammy? i love thee.

i haven't heard that since sec sch! =) i take no offense though. yes im the more masculine one between us. have not been to perth. but i'm sure it's just as lovely.

sydney's busy, aggressive and expensive. someone managed the old fashion bump and pick pocket trick on me today. except they only got my car keys. still it was a pain. it's not all horror stories though. the sun's up everyday of the year, yes even in winter. cashiers have 5 min conversations with you no matter how long the line may be. i could walk down the street in my pj and no one would stare, not that i do though. i enjoy the fact that i can sit on an 8 hour flight and turn up to a totally different world that's all too familiar with everyone just minding their own bloody business!

HOWEVER, i still get that warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy when i think of singapore. ahh the pleasure of sitting in serangoon gardens and talking shit till the wee hours. so im not a convert. doubt i'll ever be.

jesh: hell, why not!

kam: i see the start of a bright future for your blog. along the lines of shaadi.com

kam, just so you know, when it comes to love sweet love, you're top on my list. raj is showing great great potential at coming in, a close close second.

Ha! it's been fun. And woman, update! =) and I'll see you mighty soon, hopefully with good news.

love.

oh and i just realised that raj is a gardens person. just like us. wee.

kam, nudge nudge. ;)

raj: perth? pales in comparison. to every other state. it's painfully slow (in pace). but tranquil. time literally comes to a standstill. no really. apart from the annoying flies during summer, the aborigines like to stick you up for a 5. but there's still no where else i'd rather be than, well not here. at least for now.

you see, jesh knows i've a crush on you. i mean it's not everyday you meet someone who engages you on a completely different level. you do. sigh. why are all potentials either married or gay?!

jesh: darling, raj already has a gf and because we're not legalizing marriages of the same sex anytime soon, i can't marry her. and neither can you.
i told you. i just haven't ANY luck. i'm love's fool. and it looks like the title is there to stay for all eternity. condemnation!
let's do ice cream at our new find at gardens end of the week maybe? the nose runs no more.
i love you tumble tot.
good news it'd better be. i wouldn't hear of anyth else. muah.

heyy kams!

ohwell, aint life about choices? people conform to society just to blend in. im glad im not one of them. so totally agree with kav. people judge far too quickly and yet, they dont look at themselves.

so much for a world that seem positive with much negativity.

i miss u!
